If you have plans to sail with Royal Caribbean's Navigator of the Seas in the near future and also need to keep up with your training routine, here's my review on their Vitality at Sea Fitness Center.
I recently went on my first Royal Caribbean cruiseline. It was a 7 day cruise from Los Angeles to Mexico. This included three stops at Cabo, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. Going on holiday and visiting the world is always a thrill however, it can also be detrimental to my health and all the Saiyan gains I've made if I'm not careful! Specifically for cruising, It's a lot harder to main fitness due to the easy access of food, snacks and the lack of movement. Thankfully, Royal Caribbean's Navigator of the Seas had a decent gym and am proud to say that I was able to use their gym everyday while onboard. If you have plans to sail with Royal Caribbean's Navigator of the Seas in the near future and also need to keep up with your training routine, here's my review on their Vitality at Sea Fitness Center.

Fitness Center Equipment
The Vitality at Sea Fitness Center had a decent amount of Matrix branded strength training machines that will allow guests to train the entire body from chest press, Lat. pull, back row, seated leg press, leg adduction and abduction and more. The fitness center also includes Life Fitness cardio machines such as treadmills, ellipticals, a few bikes and one row machine.
For those who prefer to use free weight equipment, Vitality at Sea Fitness Center has a small space that includes a rack of dumbbells, smith machine, bench press and a cable fly machine. Again, when I say small, I really do mean small. During my time there, only 4-5 guests can fit in the space comfortably.
The group fitness studio included additional equipment such as yoga mats, Pilate rings, medicine balls, exercise balls, additional dumbbells, and foam rollers.
Some Things to Keep in Mind
Based on the hours I visited the fitness center, it was jam packed during the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
When the gym got too crowded, I took my dumbbells out on deck to complete my workout, which was quite refreshing!
The ceilings are low! I am 5'5 and when I stepped on an elliptical, I felt like my head was about to hit the ceiling.
As mentioned earlier, the freeweight space is really small. Plan accordingly to make it into fitness center when it's not busy or plan to share space with your fellow guests.
The fitness center has Peloton bikes however, you must ask a team member to pull one out for you if you wanted to use it.
As shown in some of my pictures, some of the cardio equipment is almost touching, meaning you'll be quite close to another guest.
Because you're on sea, you may feel swaying while working out so be mindful of your balance especially if attempting to complete single leg exercises.
Presentations occur in the group fitness room, so there may be times when it's not available to use.
Final Thoughts
I truly appreciate that Royal Caribbean had a fitness center on their boat and aprpeciate that they had a balance of equipment from strength machines, cardio machines and free weights. The Royal Caribbean team kept the fitness center well-maintained and clean throughout the entire sailing. During my 7 day cruise, I was able to maintain my fitness and overall movement however, if you ask about my nutrition, that's a different story! Happy cruising everyone!
